Children and Youth Partnership for Dare County is currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:

WINGS:

WINGS is a preschool literacy program for children ages 3-6. WINGS is a systematic program that teaches through play. WINGS volunteers will be trained to work one on one with preschoolers. WINGS volunteers can work as little as 1 day a week for 1 hour. We are currently seeking Volunteers for the 2011- 2012 school year. Volunteer Support Parents Needed!

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County / Family Support Network of Northeastern NC is seeking parents with children who have special needs to become volunteer support parents. Family Support Network offers one-to-one emotional and informational support to parents of children who have a disability, chronic illness, or other special healthcare needs by a trained support parent who has had similar family and disability experiences. Support parents are periodically matched with families whose children recently diagnosed for a series of informal contacts.

Prevent Obesity by Design

Work in the playground area planting and maintaining the area.

Resource Room

Cleaning and Inventoring Resource Kits, delivering or picking up kits from various locations

Training Packets

Make copies and assemble packages in folders. Create teacher tool kits for CSEFEL and/or other training modules.

Parents as Teachers

Collect stuff animals and create hand puppets from the animals. Make die cuts for various Parents as Teachers activities.

Outreach Events

Work at assigned areas such as a block station or a play station at KidsFest interacting with children
