Fruits and Vegetables: More Matters (All ages)

This fun and interactive workshop offers tips on planning healthy meals and snacks for your family that will end those dinnertime stand-offs. With the rise of childhood obesity, feeding your family nutritious meals packed with fruits and vegetables is more important than ever, but it doesn't mean they can't also be delicious. While focusing on healthy choices, we will explore several new food flavors that pack a nutritioanl punch and are kid tested-parent approved!

"No I Won't and You Can't Make Me!" Effectively Handling Power Struggles (Toddler/Elementary specific)

Do you ever feel like children are more of a challenge than you had imagined? Attend this lively workshop and learn to replace conflict with purposeful action. Not only will you take home tools to recognize and disengage from power struggles, you will be equipped with tools to prevent and lessen the occurrence of power struggles in the future!

Survival Skills for Parenting your Teens

Guiding your child through the preteen and teen years can be a bumpy ride. attend this workshop and you will learn to avoid power stuggles by using effective communication, limit setting, anger management and effective supervision, etc. Leave with skills that will help you as a parent to survive living with your adolescent.

Come as a family to play and learn! Participate in these fun and interactive workshops at the Outer Banks YMCA in Nags Head free of charge (no membership is required).

Child care will be provided for a fee of $3 per child and they will enjoy an evening of crafts, games & other fun activities. Workshops begin at 6:30pm, make sure to arrive early to get your children checked-in on time.
