Through its call-in line CCR&R offers free referrals and information about child care, early learning programs, and school-age programs. CCR&R offers information on quality care issues and the NC star-rated license, and is also available to offer workshops on identifying quality child care. Contact CCR&R for more information.

The Parenting Enrichment Program is a collaboration of local county agencies and individuals dedicated to enriching family life in Dare County. Parenting workshops are offered to empower families raising children in today's complex society.

Parents as Teachers, an early childhood education and family support program for families with children prenatal through age 5, believes that parents are their child's first and most influential teacher. Certified parent educators design home visits for each family to discuss their child's stages of development and provide parent-child activities that promote learning. Periodic group meetings allow parents to meet with other parents of young children in order share successes and concerns, participate in parent-child activities, and further their knowledge of child development. Together with home visits and group meetings, periodic developmental screenings and information about other available services allow families to be sure that their child has the best possible start in life.
Eligibility: Families with children prenatal to age 5 or until their child enters kindergarten

Conducts life skills training via classes and seminars in:
- Family Development- communication, conflict management, stress, crisis resolution, and building strengths
- Human Environment- clothing and textiles, housing, residential water and air quality, waste management
- Health and Safety - lifestyles and home safety
- Family Resource Management - personal financial management, consumer education, and legal issues
- Food Safety and Nutrition - child and maternal nutrition, weight control, safe food handling and optimal nutrition on a limited budget
Eligibility: Open to all.
Fees: Fees vary - ranging from free to nominal to cover supplies and materials.

Mommy & Me is a group of organized moms dedicated to the development of young children birth through age five. Through various activities and functions, Mommy & Me provides members with the foundation for educational stimulation in the arts, sciences, and community awareness, as well as social interaction for moms, dads, or guardians and their children. Mommy & Me is involved in fundraising in an effort to assist families and organizations in need. Activities include; educational lectures, Mom's Night out, playgroups, planned outings, Mom's Morning Out
Eligibility: Moms, dads, or guardians and their children from birth to age 5.
Fees: Annual dues of $25.00
