The Guardian ad Litem Program sponsors a project providing pro bono attorneys to represent children who are victims or witnesses in criminal cases.
Eligibility: Serves Dare, Pasquotank and other counties in the First Judicial District

Legal Aid of North Carolina, provides free legal assistance to income eligible persons and their community organizations in an eleven county service area. Representation is limited to matters of civil law. They do not represent clients in criminal cases or traffic offenses. This is a federally funded non-profit legal service.
Eligibility: Serves low income and elderly clients.
Fees: No cost to income eligible clients.
