Outer Banks Hotline operates thrift shops for community access to inexpensive goods, for free goods in time of need, and an easy entry port for those in crisis. Proceeds from these shops support shelter and services for victims of domestic violence, response to sexual assault victims, prevention education, support groups and advocacy.

The Changing Tide in Buxton is a high-end thrift/consignment boutique. The shop is a project of Locomotion, Hatteras Island's non-profit teen organization. You will find everything from hats to shoes and furniture to sporting equipment.
