Family Support Program is dedicated to providing all parents with easy access to information, programs, and services that can assist them in their role as their children's first and most influential teacher, decision maker, supporter, and advocate.

C&YP's Family Support Program currently offers the following programs and services:

  • Parents as Teachers provides parent education and family support to families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Through home visits and group meetings parent educators share child development/parenting information and parent-child activities that promote growth and learning.

  • Family Support Network offers support for families with children who have special needs by providing a one-on-one parent match with a trained support parent for emotional support, assistance in finding community resources, and sharing parenting experiences.

  • Parenting Enrichment Program offers a series of free parenting workshops throughout the year.

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County's Family Support Program serves as a clearinghouse of information and services available to Dare County's children, youth and their families. Get a free copy of Children & Youth Partnerships Family Resource Guide, a directory to programs and services available to families in Dare County with children from birth to age 21. Available at: Dare County Public Libraries, Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce and Children & Youth Partnerships office.
